What is Salt Ranch Camp?
A full day, outdoor camp with hands on animal expriences and chores alongside more traditional camp activities - kids learn first hand what it takes to raise animals in a homestead-style setting. They learn about care and nutrition, facts about each breed and habitat, and help to produce the products we get from the animals. They interact with each type of animal we have, from goats and chickens, to equine and cattle. They make crafts, play games, swim and get to handle baby animals. It is an immersive and fun week-long experience they will never forget!

Ages and Restrictions
Farm camp is offered to incoming 1st Graders up to 12 years old. Activities are modified for different ages - with older kids given more responsibilities and younger kids given a mentor for the week. Children must be strong swimmers, be comfortable around animals and willing to get their hands dirty. We welcome volunteers ages 15 and up, so please contact us directly to apply.
Camp hours are 9am - 3pm four days each week.
We do not offer camp during August due to the heat. -
What can we expect in a day?
Our schedule changes depending on the needs of the animals, but generally follows a pattern of play, chores, snack, stations for different activities/games/crafts, lunch, a second round of stations and then pool time. It is full day outside, and everyone goes home properly tired!
Animal Experiences include: Donkey or Horseback Riding; Milking Goats; Petting and Feeding Cattle, Goat Kids, Chicks; Bottle Feeding Baby Goats; Gardening; Archery; Fishing; and chores for all the “habitats.” Activities vary depending on what is available during the week of camp.

How do I sign up?
We will offer four weeks of camp next summer (2027) and we accept up to 20 campers per week. Spots are available on a first come-first serve basis. You can sign up below and we will contact you with the registration information. (You can sign up for partial weeks if space is available, but it is not typical. We ask a minimum of two days per camper to sign up.)
